See & Do
Bugak Skyway, which runs along the northeast ridge of Bugaksan (Mt.), has become known as the most beautiful driving route in Korea ever since it opened in September of 1968. The road is forested by thick greenery and leads to an octagonal pavilion (Palgakjeong) located at the top of the mountain, allowing visitors to appreciate a panoramic view of the whole city of Seoul. Ever since Palgakjeong and the surrounding areas underwent renovation and re-opened in April 2010, Bugak Skyway has grown to become a must for local residents and tourists alike. Palgakjeong is located at an elevation of 342 m, allowing visitors to appreciate not only the beauty of mother nature but also a panoramic view of the entire city. Visitors can enjoy a traditional plaza, a pagoda resting area, a wildflower garden and walking trails. ID cards are required upon admission as the facility is protected by the military. It is open from 9am to 4pm during the summer and 10am to 3pm during the winter.
