About

Some twenty years ago, Yeongdeokhoe Sikdang first introduced restaurant-goers in downtown Seoul to makhoe (a few different kinds of sliced small fish) mixed with vegetables and vinegar chili paste. In the winter, the partly dried Pacific herring has an exquisite flavor, and mulhoe (thinly sliced fish or squid seasoned with green onions, garlic, and chili pepper power) and hoedupbap (raw fish on rice) make for a good meal.
