Taking place from Sept. 10th to Dec. 15th, a special exhibition titled "Changuimun in Jeong Seon's Painting" will display paintings of Changuimun by famous artist and painter Jeon Seon, allowing visitors to view the rich detail and history surrounding this particular gate of Seoul City Wall during the Joseon Dynasty.
Changuimun Gate is a gate located in the northwestern section of Seoul City Wall on top of the ridge connecting Baegak Mountain and Inwangsan Mountain. The oldest gate to be preserved in Seoul City Wall, Changuimun Gate was drawn in two paintings by Jeon Seon, a prominent painter and artist in the Joseon Dynasty. Through his paintings, visitors can glimpse the past life and history of the people and its surrounding areas back in the Joseon Dynasty.
