See a Traditional Story Performed at Dongdaemun!
A traditional martial arts performance will take place at Dongdaemun every Friday and Saturday evening from Sept. 8th through Oct. 21st, 2017. See the story of Hadogam Leesaengjeon as performed on the Outdoor Stage in front of Dongdaemun Stadium Memorial in Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP).
Though Dongdaemun is best known today for being a fashion and design mecca, during the Joseon Dynasty, the area was once home to a famed barracks and martial arts training center called Hadogam. Hadogam Leesaengjeon tells the story of a fabric merchant known as Leesaengjeon who is fascinated by martial arts and soldiers. He dreams of becoming the nation's finest warrior but achieving that dream seems out of reach. Then one day, he overhears a band of robbers talking about their plan to kill the king. See what happens next at Dongdaemun! The performance is an exciting blend of martial arts and theater!
DDP will also be hosting many other online and offline events during the performance period. The Seoul Bamdokkaebi Night Market will also be taking place at this time. Have fun and catch a performance at Dongdaeum!
