Wearing hanbok like BTS
Gyeongbokgung Palace & Hanboknam
Gyeongbokgung Palace is Korea’s favorite cultural heritage. It is a palace that represents the long history of royal families in Korean history, and is one of the most well-known palaces among Koreans. With Inwangsan Mountain in the background, this beautiful palace was also the stage for a world-class idol group, BTS, in 2015 during their performance for the KBS “Open Concert”. The gatekeeper changing ceremony by the majestic main entrance is highly recommended for tourists to view.
If you’re planning a visit to the palaces around Seoul, you cannot forget to try wearing Korean traditional clothing, known as hanbok. Like the BTS members who wore hanbok during their performance at the 2018 Melon Music Awards (MMA), wear a hanbok to show off your beauty while walking around the Gyeongbokgung Palace. If you have the Discover Seoul Pass, you can rent the perfect hanbok for you at the HANBOKNAM Gyeongbokgung and Insadong locations. There is a wide variety of accessories available for rental as well, such as traditional headbands, as well as baggage lockers, so be sure to pay a visit before visiting the Palace.
