An excellent museum that highlights interesting features of Seoul¡¯s unique heritage. Seoul Museum of History reflects on the history and traditional culture of Seoul. Browse through an amazing variety of remains from the prehistoric era to the modern times. Renovated in May 2002 the Museum is housed inside a state-of-the-art building. The main exhibit halls are located on the third floor. It¡¯s here visitors can see a bird¡¯s eye view of Seoul when it became the capital of
Joseon Kingdom. You can also see the atmosphere of the daily life of the Seoul people, view exhibits on the online cyber museum or visit the Kids¡¯ Corner with the entire family. The permanent exhibition room is divided into 4 zones: Zone 1 is designed to show how Seoul became the capital of Korea, Zone 2 focuses on the lifestyle of Seoul citizens during the Joseon Dynasty, and Zone 3 displays the royal court traditions and the scholar culture of the ruling class of the Joseon Dynasty. Visitors also can see how Seoul has been developed since 5000 B.C.
