Kids Museum Features Fun Art by Young Korean Artists
Venue Hello Museum
date Jul.04, 2009~Sep.30, 2009
Age All
Kids can be inspired by young Korean artists and make their own paintings in a fun environment that also happens to be a museum with a friendly name – the Hello Museum. The show is called ¡°Hello. Into. Ink, Paper 2,¡± and runs through September 30 at the Hello Museum in the Yeoksam area of southern Seoul.

One of the most interesting pieces in the show is a smiling tiger that looks something like the Cheshire cat in Alice in Wonderland. Actually it¡¯s a kid-friendly version of a tiger commonly portrayed in historic Korean art. Seven young artists in all are represented in the show.

There¡¯s a guided program where kids view the artworks and then create their own versions using ink brush and paper. The museum is designed like a children¡¯s playhouse, so they¡¯ll never know they are getting a cultural experience.

The museum¡¯s website is Korean-only, but nonetheless gives a sense of what the experience is all about.

Regular unguided admission is W5,000. There is also a guided 70-minute program that costs W20,000 per child and W2,000 for parents; reservations are necessary. To reserve a guided experience, contact the museum at 02-562-4420. If you need assistance from a Korean speaker, contact the Seoul Global Center at 02-1330.

To get to the Hello Museum, arrive at Seolleung Station, line 2; take subway exit 8 and get on bus 6411 or 3420; get off at the second stop.
