Covering around 446,943 square meters, this expansive royal garden still has restricted areas that remain inaccessible to the public. Historically, it was off-limits to commoners, reserved only for the Joseon royal family. Nestled against Maebong Peak of Bugaksan Mountain, the garden features several ponds, including Buyongji, home to Buyongjeong Pavilion, Aeryeonji, Jangbangji, and Banwolji. The arrangement of pavilions and buildings reflects traditional Korean architecture, demonstrating a masterful harmony between structures and nature.
