Cheongwon Sanbang is a small museum and educational center in Bukchon Hanok Village dedicated to Korean woodwork. The center is owned and operated by master craftsman and woodworker Sim Yong-sik, who was designated one of Seoul’s intangible cultural assets. Cheongwon Sanbang was originally Sim Yong-sik’s place of personal residence, but he converted the residence into a museum to showcase the beauty of traditional Korean woodwork. 40 years of Sim's woodwork is on display here and visitors can see woodwork that would typically be found in temples, palaces, and private residences. Visitors can also take woodworking classes here.
