Gwanghuimun Gate is one of the Seoul's 4 minor city gates. It is located along the southeastern boundary of Joseon-era Seoul. It was known by two other names throughout history, Sugumun Gate and Sigumun Gate. In 1719, it was officially named Gwanghuimun Gate and its name has been the same ever since. In 1975, the gate underwent successful restoration work. Visitors can stop by and see the gate as it is located near the modern Seoul landmark, Dongdaemun History and Culture Park.
