People love going for a dip in the water during the hot summer months! However, if you cannot afford to travel or take a vacation abroad, you can enjoy the water parks available around Hangang River. In particular, we highly recommend Nanji Hangang Park.Along Hangang River, there are outdoor swimming pools in Gwangnaru, Ttukseom Island, Jamsil, Jamwon, and Yeouido, and water parks in Nanji and Yanghwa. The water park in Nanji Hangang Park is especially popular as there’s an infinity pool with a nice view ofthe Han River right in front.

The water park was constructed with a relatively shallow depth (as deep as 80 cm) to remind people of their childhood days spent playing in the riverside as well as to create a family-friendly place for people to go with their children. A music fountain inside the water park also helps to create a lively atmosphere.

First, visitors must wear a swimming cap before entering the pool. As a public facility used by many different people, rubber tubes and swimming gear (flippers, snorkels, etc.) are not allowed in the pools. Children cannot enter without a guardian. For groups of children, there should be at least one chaperone for every four children. For those who get hungry, light snacks are available for purchase. You can also bring food to the swimming pool and water park facilities but alcohol is prohibited. In addition, one free parasol is provided for a group of four so that you can stay cooler. Most importantly, if you experience any abnormal physical condition while swimming, you should get out of the water immediately. Make sure to rest and drink a sufficient amount of water for a more safe and fun water experience.

Nanji Park, which houses a water play zone, was established before the 2002 World Cup to provide a local place by the river for people to barbecue and camp. It is the only area where you can cook and camp around Hangang River. If you want to use a tent inside the campsite, you must make a reservation through the internet. A family of four can rent a tent for KRW 33,000 per day. You can also rent most of the items that you need for camping on-site, allowing you to visit without having to prepare much in advance.

Another thing to enjoy in Nanji Park is "Wetland," an attraction designed for children visiting the park to freely explore nature and learn about it. In addition to an ecology experience program, children can also learn about the park's ecology at the Hangang Wildlife Exploration Center and the Waterside Ecological Wetland Center. Pedestrian bridges are installed throughout Wetland so that you can walk around and observe animals that live in the waterside. With Pyeonghwa Park, Haneul Park, and Noeul Parkin its vicinity, this is a great attraction to visit for a one-day family trip.
