The city of Seoul is constantly bustling with people on the go day in and day out. It becomes so much so that one may find themselves desperate to somehow push the "pause" button on the daily grind. Today, we're going to explore some park options throughout Seoul to help give you that peace and quiet you seek, if but only for a moment.
#5
Seonyudo Neighborhood Park
Serving as Korea's very first natural eco-park, Seonyudo Park has earned quite a name for itself. The park, in fact, originates from a purification plant, which was in operation until the year 2000, helping supply the city's source of tap water. Afterward, the plant facilities were transformed into its current state, having salvaged as much as possible from the facilities. The park is surrounded by the flowing waters of the Hangang River and has the potential to attract crowds of people due to its location, yet it remains a very peaceful getaway away from the bustling hordes. Be sure to stop on by for a fantastic photo op amid the various structures naturally blending in with the abundant trees and brush.

Noeul Park
Designated as one of World Cup Park's subset of four parks set under a unique theme, Noeul Park curiously remains free of all the crowds. The term noeul, meaning the "sky at sunset," hints at the park living up to its name as being a great spot to catch the sunset and is a popular site for camping with all the plush grass at your feet. In contrast with the Haneul (Sky) Park attracting couples on a romantic evening, Noeul Park offers more of a family-oriented atmosphere. Friends and family are invited to come enjoy the wide, grassy fields where children run about freely till their heart's content and check out the numerous sculptures available for viewing.
Park entry prohibited at night (Varies by month)

The walking path of the park undulates along with the terrain, yet never steepens while offering plenty of shaded areas so that visitors can traverse at their leisure. What's more is that office workers nearby are said to frequent the park for its various open facilities that include basketball and badminton courts, a driving range, a mineral spring, a children's park, and more! The park faithfully carries out its role as a respite from the city for not only vicinity residents, but also residents across the metropolitan area.

Gil-dong Ecological Park
Created with the purpose of providing a habitat for wildlife, as well as promoting species diversity, the Gil-dong Ecological Park is an eco-park comprised of a reservoir, a mountain and forest area, and a wetlands area. In line with this purpose of essentially preserving the necessary wildlife ecosystem, the number of visitors are limited based on a set schedule. These efforts have resulted in a well-preserved ecosystem that supports a wide variety of plant and animal wildlife. You can comfortably enjoy the pavilions, plant and animal observation areas, and wetlands deck naturally placed around and within the dirt paths and plush woodlands.
