1898 Myeongdong Cathedral is a complex cultural space frequented by many people and was built as a place that would facilitate communication and sharing. Built in 1898, tt was the first Gothic style building ever constructed in Korea and the first to be built with red brick. Reminiscent of the way beams of sun shine down, the interior ceilings are angled and this makes for a warm and cozy effect on the entire space. Visitors may also shop for flowers and souvenirs, and even enjoy some of the unique classes that are offered to help take in some fascinating culture, books, music. and more.

Myeongdong cathedral is amazing. Being Catholic and also Filipino, we felt the cathedral's great influence on South Korea's history. We went to the 9 am Sunday Mass which was in English.
