Sajikdaeje (社稷大祭), a national ritual from the Joseon Dynasty, praying for national peace and a bountiful harvest, will be reenacted in downtown Seoul.

Sajikdaeje (社稷大祭) is a traditional ritual in which the king and all civil and military officials of the Joseon Dynasty participate, offering offerings directly to Sasin (社神), the god of land, and Jikshin (稷神), the god of grain, to pray for national peace and a bountiful harvest. Designated Important Intangible Cultural Property No. 111 in October 2000, this precious cultural heritage is a precious cultural heritage.
For our people, who have long relied on agriculture for their livelihood, land and grain were the foundation of their nation. The nation held Sajikdaeje to pray for the well-being of the people who relied on agriculture for their livelihood. Abolished in 1908 (the second year of King Sunjong's reign) under Japanese colonial rule, Sajikdaeje was restored to its original form in 1988 and has been held annually since then under the auspices of the Jeonju Lee Clan Association's Sajikdaeje Preservation Committee. Departing from Deoksugung Palace, the tour takes approximately 50 minutes via Gwanghwamun Gate to Sajikdan Altar.
