King Jeongjo, the 22nd king who led the late Joseon era into a cultural golden age and achieved great revival, will be commemorated through the joint reenactment of King Jeongjo’s Royal Parade, which took place during the Eulmyo year (1795, 2nd lunar month). This reenactment will be even closer to the actual procession day and will take place in October 2023. Based on the heritage record 'The Royal Journey of Eulmyonyun,' the reenactment of 'Eulmyonyun Hwaseong Royal Procession,' also known as King Jeongjo's Royal Parade, refers to the grand royal journey that took place over eight days, from the 9th to the 16th day of the 2nd lunar month in 1795, to commemorate the 60th birthday of King Jeongjo's mother, Queen Heongyeong. The joint reenactment of King Jeongjo's Royal Parade is a festival in which Seoul City, Gyeonggi Province, Suwon City, and Hwaseong City collaborate to recreate the original procession in modern times splendidly.
