Every year when the warm spring air arrives, Yeouido bursts into bloom with 1,886 cherry trees and 87,859 spring flowers of 13 varieties, including azaleas, forsythias, and royal azaleas. The Yeongdeungpo Yeouido Spring Flower Festival, which was held for the first time in 2005, is Korea's premier spring festival with an abundance of sights and activities against the backdrop of the expansive Hangang River. This spring flower festival where beautiful blooms and diverse cultural arts come together, amplifies the excitement through performances, exhibitions, and experience events at Yeouiseo-ro and Hangang Park, beginning with an opening ceremony held in early April each year to mark the start of the festivities.
