The competitive section EX-Now screening works of Experimental Film & Video Festival in Seoul were selected through preliminary committee reviews from among approximately 2,300 works from 82 countries submitted through open calls over four months, as well as works from domestic and international distributors. Selecting more meaningful works is a continuous process of contemplation, questioning, and confirmation, resulting in a total of 34 selected works being screened through 8 sections, divided into international (EX-Now 1-5) and domestic (EX-Now 6-8) categories. The final three award-winning works will be determined through jury evaluation. The Moving Image Forum, which hosts the Experimental Film & Video Festival in Seoul (EXiS), re-examines experimental film theory and issues while establishing the foundations for their utilization. It operates programs in collaboration with art museums, alternative spaces, and cinematheques, and provides workshops and curricula through connections with media education. Moving Image Forum is dedicated to archiving domestic and international experimental film works and materials, and expanding the influence of experimental films by supporting the artist community.
