The 2024 Samgaksan Geumam Art Museum Craft Exhibition Contest is the first contest held since the museum’s opening in 2018. Unlike other prestigious competitions, this contest is divided into three categories: 'EUNPYEONG,' which focuses on works that harmonize with the unique characteristics of the Hanok village; 'ECO,' for works that blend with nature, including Bukhansan Mountain; and 'EVERY,' for interactive content created with the audience. The first theme to kick off the exhibition is the EUNPYEONG category with the exhibition “Variety of Shapes and Colors.” It features works by artist Ha Shin-hyuk, who presents monochrome landscape ceramics, and Shin Ye-won, who explores the boundary between craft and industry using plastic, a byproduct of industrial society. This exhibition reflects our hopes for the union of nature and industrial society, striving for natural harmony. We hope you enjoy a unique reflective experience through the works of these two artists, displayed in the traditional Hanok setting.
