This exhibition showcases the entire production process of all the works directed by the master of animation, Takahata Isao, from his debut to his masterpieces. It includes works such as “Heidi, Girl of the Alps (1974)”, “Anne of Green Gables (1979)”, “Grave of the Fireflies (1988)”, “Only Yesterday (1991)”, “Pom Poko (1994)”, and “The Tale of the Princess Kaguya (2013)”.
His directorial materials include layouts, which can be likened to blueprints for animated film production, and sketches and handwritten notes that he wrote and drew.
In addition, it is packed with previously unreleased materials from Miyazaki Hayao, who was responsible for the layouts during Takahata Isao's directorial era at Zuiyo Video, including “Heidi, Girl of the Alps (1974)” and “Anne of Green Gables (1979).”
