The year 2025 marks both the twentieth anniversary of the completion of the Cheonggyecheon restoration and the twentieth anniversary of the opening of the Cheonggyecheon Museum. The Cheonggyecheon Museum began as an exhibition hall to promote the Cheonggyecheon Restoration Project. Ten years after its opening, it was remodeled into a professional museum that comprehensively highlights the history of Cheonggyecheon. Since then, it has actively presented exhibitions, education, research, and cultural events that help citizens better understand Seoul through the history of Cheonggyecheon and its riverside.
This exhibition looks into what the past twenty years of the museum have been filled with through the “Room of a Twenty-Year-Old Youth.” In addition, it provides an opportunity to think about what new horizons Cheonggyecheon, as a historical and cultural content that remembers Seoul, can open in the future.
