This exhibition is presented for the first time using the entire building since the opening of the Photography Seoul Museum of Art. It is composed of works held by the Seoul Museum of Art and by the artists, centering on works created from the late 1950s, which is generally regarded as the starting point of Korean contemporary art, and which used “photography” or “photographic images” as a medium of creation. Through this, the exhibition sheds light on the process in which photography has functioned as a creative tool that opens new worlds for artists, as well as the role it has performed within the expansion of contemporary art.
