Artist Research: 《Unfinished Flora―Soyo Lee》 and 《Time Blooms―Anna Ridler》, part of the Artist Research series at the Buk Seoul Museum of Art, introduce creative worlds based on artist research meticulously constructed through original approaches that traverse various academic and technological fields. This exhibition was planned to reexamine the academic, artistic, and social value of research conducted by artists. The two artists’ explorations of human constructed systems of knowledge and time intersect with studies of natural orders such as vegetation zones and flowering rhythms and are realized through art. This exhibition, which presents different research based artistic practices addressing the relationship between humans and non humans, aims to step away from human centered global thinking and to awaken a planetary sensibility that imagines possibilities of coexistence among the diverse beings that make up the Earth.
