In Episode 15, Sun-woo (Go Kyung-pyo) and Bo-ra (Ryu Hye-young) drink Vienna coffee and enjoy their date at Taegeukdang, which has been transformed into a café in the drama. Taegeukdang is the oldest bakery in Seoul that boasts a seventy-five-year history. The bakery’s representative goods, like the loaves of bread, butter cake, bun with sweet red bean filling, and salad bread, were promoted through Reply 1988. The bakery’s atmosphere differs slightly from that which was portrayed in the drama as the bakery recently underwent renovations, but it continues to maintain the flavors, shapes, and packaging to stir up nostalgia in customers. Inside the bakery is a cafeteria that continues to receive love, even after the end of the drama, by both older regular customers and the younger generation who seek a newtro vibe. In March, the bakery collaborated with LINE Friends to launch the “BROWN Monaka.” In addition to the main branch in Jangchung-dong, flavors of traditional bread can be found at the Insa-dong, Eulji-ro, and Itaewon branches
