Seoul is bursting with tourist attractions and there two new attractions where visitors can experience Seoul and escape the sweltering heat of August. Visit Seoul Sky at Lotte World Tower and the Starfield Library in COEX!

Seoul Sky : See the City from Above
Seoul's landscape features many skyscrapers, but visitors to the city will notice one building in particular towering over other skyscrapers. Korea's tallest building, Lotte World Tower, opened to the public in April, 2017 to great fanfare. It's already become one of the city's most popular attractions and one of the tower's star features is the observation deck Seoul Sky. Seoul Sky is the world's 3rd highest observation deck and the views of Seoul are unrivalled. It's possible to see Namsan Seoul Tower from Seoul Sky on a clear day. Though Seoul is beautiful during the day, the city is a sight to behold when it lights up at night!
Beautiful Views, Beautiful Interiors
It's not just the views of Seoul that are beautiful, great care was taken with regard to the interior design. The box office on the 122nd floor and the other floors below the observatory are beautifully detailed and parts of the ceilings are decorated with media facades that are constantly changing. Charming artworks and media art are on display throughout Lotte World Tower.
Bird's-eye Views of Seoul
As the world's 3rd highest observation deck, Seoul Sky offers unrivalled panoramic views of Seoul. For extra special photos, visitors may want to time their visit to Seoul Sky to watch and photograph the sunset. See the city's lights grow bright as the sky goes dark.
1. Sky Deck : Walking on Thin Air
One section of Seoul Sky is outfitted with clear glass flooring. Located on the 118th floor, the Sky Deck let visitors peer down at the city below. Visitors who are afraid of heights may be tempted to skip the Sky Deck, but it is a one-of-a-kind Seoul experience.
2. Sky Terrace : Korea's Highest Terrace
The Sky Terrace is another special feature of Seoul Sky. Located on the 120th floor, it is the highest terrace in all of Korea. Step out onto the terrace for some fresh air and great views!
3. Multimedia Elevators
The elevator for Seoul Sky features multimedia displays for visitors to enjoy. When heading up to Seoul Sky, the elevator's interiors display Seoul's major landmarks and attractions. When heading back down, the visitors will see show fireworks displays. The eye-catching displays make each trip up to the sky and back down to earth a fun trip!
Paid Lounge on the 123rd Floor
Seoul Sky is free all the way up to the 122nd floor. However, the 123rd floor, the highest floor, is a paid lounge. Visitors to Seoul Sky should definitely pay the fee to experience the top floor, especially if they already made it to the 122nd. Starfield Library is a mega-library located within COEX, the giant Seoul shopping mall. In the smartphone era, books and printed magazines still have the power to draw people's attention and interest. Starfield Library is a two-story library that is open to the public and visitors are free to stop by and take a break during a hectic day of shopping and sightseeing. Most of the books and reading materials are in Korean, but Starfield Library has a welcoming atmosphere so visitors may want to grab a seat and take a breather while enjoying the ambience.
Tens of Thousands of Books and Magazines
Starfield Library's expansive interior is roughly 2,800㎡ in size and there are over 50,000 books and magazines. The library 's most striking features are probably the three towering bookshelves that dominate the space. Standing roughly 13 meters tall, the bookshelves are stacked to the ceiling with books and they make for great photo backdrops!
Multipurpose Cultural Venue
Though primarily a library, visitors can also take in a variety of cultural events and performances that are hosted by Starfield. Arts performances, live music, and lectures are just some of the events that take place at Starfield Library. The lauded Korean poet Ko Un is just one of the famous figures that have taken part in the library's cultural events. Enjoy cultural events and take a breather at Starfield Library in COEX.
