Center of Medical ExcellenceIn 2016, a total of 364,189 medical tourists visited Korea, which represents a 22.6 percent increase compared to the previous year. Out of these tourists, 216,657 people (59.5 percent) traveled to Seoul. The city of Seoul has a total of 21,507 healthcare organizations (KOSIS, 2015). Among them, 14 are advanced level hospitals, which is almost a third of the 43 that are distributed throughout the country (Korea Health Industry Development Institute, 2014). Medical institutions in Seoul offer all specialties in various forms to allow foreign patients to receive medical care in all areas. From clinics to JCI accredited hospitals, western medicine, and Korean medicinal clinics, the city offers a wide range of medical products that can satisfy the diverse needs of patients. With the concentration of many registered businesses for foreign patients inducement projects (1,227 businesses in Seoul, 1,924 in the country), foreign patients are able to receive information on medical tour programs without difficulty (Korea Health Industry Development Institute, 2015).

A medical tour course with medical care plus restaurant and tourist recommendations is a given. The Help Desk also introduces visitors to products from partner businesses and wellness service providers.
-Medical Support for Seoul's Foreign Patients
One of the many ways that Seoul offers support to foreign patients is with medical tourism coordinators. There are 10 languages on offer and there are currently 92 coordinators available to support foreign patients during their treatment courses. Additionally, members of the Seoul Medical Tourism Alliance offer a pick up service for foreign patients.
