Located along the Cheonggyecheon Stream at the heart of Seoul, the Seoul Lantern Festival continues a thirteen-year tradition celebrated with a display of a variety of light sculptures based on Hanji lanterns. The wonderful array of lanterns capturing a multitude of vibrant themes every year is thoroughly enjoyed by all participants.
This year’s festival is held in line with the concept, “Forest of healing, the colors of Seoul,” with the aim of providing a sense of healing to those fatigued by the pandemic. Due to the current social distancing measures in place, the festival will be conducted both on and offline with the focus on AR-based content for the online portion of festivities.
