Camping in Seoul

Do you and your loved ones enjoy camping, but always find travelling hours into rural areas with all your camping gear troublesome?  You need not look any futher.  You can now go camping hassle-free during your visit to Seoul at one of the five campgrounds in the city.  Enjoy the beauty and peacefulness of wilderness camping with your loved ones, hidden within a lively urban city. 

Witness The Most Beautiful Sunset in Seoul - Noeul Park Campground

Imagine being able to step away from the bustling city of Seoul, lay outside and gaze at the stars with the peaceful sound of frogs and crickets chirping in the backgroud. This is all possible at the Noeul Park Camping Ground.  With large grassy fields, playgrounds and a variety of activies, create an unforgetable memory with your loved ones at Noeul Park Camping Ground. 

There are a total of 120 camping sites, each equipped with a charcoal grill and table.  With the exception of just 20 sites, electricity (up to 1KW) is available at all other 100 camping sites.  Reservations can be made for parties of up to 6 persons at a just 13,000 won/night for stations with electricity and 10,000 won/night for stations without electricity.

Luxury Camping  - Jungnang Campground

Experience luxury camping at Jungnang Campground. With a total of 47 sites, each site is equipped with a lushy grass lawn, outdoor table, electricity, showers and other amenities and facilities that you would only expect at a luxury resort.  Auto camping is also possible for those that would like to rent a camping RV instead.  With nothing but nature in the 180,000 square meter park, it will be easy to forget that you're in the city.  Located nearby Yangwon Station on Jungang subway line, the campground is easily accessible via public transportation. 

Reservations for the month of August will begin at 2 pm on July 15. Tents cannot be rented at the Jungnang campground, so you must prepare your own. (Reservation : 02-434-4371~2)




3-in-1 : Camping, Theme Park and Zoo - Seoul Grand Park Campground

Nestled within the crystal clear streams and lush green forest of Cheonggyesan (Mountain), there are a total of 150 camping sites at the Seoul Grand Park Campground.  All camping equipment is available for rental, so tourists can conveniently go camping during their visit to Seoul.  Want to experience camping, but don't really feel like spending the night?  Just pay the entrance fee and have an afternoon picnic and dip in the stream.

With nearby attractions like the Seoul Grand Zoo, Seoul Land Theme Park and the National Museum of Contemporary Art, create a memorable experience for your children.  Reservations for Friday and Saturday are currently almost fully booked.  Tent rentals are 15,000 won/night and admissions are 2,000won for adults.  (Reservations: 02-500-7870)


Seoul City's Largest Campground - Nanji Campgroud

Located in Mapo-gu Sangam-dong, Nanji Campground is the largest of the five campgrounds in Seoul, able to accommodate up to 2,000 people with a total of 165 camping sites.  If you have your own tent or just want to have a barbecue without spending the night, reservations are not required.  Just pay the entrance fee to enter.  If you would like to rent a tent and spend the night, reservation is required in advance.  Multi-lingual reservation service is available.  

Camping site is 15,000 won for parties that do not require a tent, or an additional 29,000 won for parties that require a rental tent.  For just a little extra, grills, tables, charcoal, meats and other foods can all be purchased at convenient stores within the camping grounds.  Entrance fee is 3,750won for adults and 2,000won for children (ages 5~7).  Free for children under the age of 4.  

Weekend reservations for the months of July and August are currently fully booked, but space remains for weekdays.  (Reservation : 02-304-0061~3) 
 

Herb Park and Gildong Ecological Park - Gangdong Family Campground

Located at the skirts of Iljasan (Mountain) in Gangdong-gu Gil-dong, Gangdong Family Campground offers 8 auto camping sites for those who are fully equipped with camping gear, and 49 sites for those that just require a tent rental.  Although it is much smaller than the other campgrounds, campers can enjoy the sights and fragrance of summer flowers and herbs at the Herb Park during the day, and gaze into the nightsky during the night.

An Abandoned School Reborn - Starlight Village Campground

Opening on July 7, 2013, the Starlight Village Campground is Seoul City's newest campground.  Seoul City has put life back into an abandoned school campus in Gangwon-do Hoengseong-gun. Located just 2 hours from Seoul, the campground is close enough to get to, but far enough from any hint of urban city lights. If you're from an urban city, you will be amazed at the number stars in the nightsky from here.  

Price is 23,000 won/night for families of 4~5.  Matress, grills, tables, ping pong tables, outdoor health facilities are all free of charge.  (Reservation : 2133-3923)
