The Seoul Tourist Information Center provides support for tourists experiencing difficulties or tourism-related inconveniences in Seoul, helping to mediate and resolve such issues.

Compensation service for overcharging international tourists


The Seoul Tourist Information Center offers cash compensation for foreign tourists who have been overcharged while in Seoul.
 

○Eligibility

International Tourists who are currently staying in Korea for less than 90 days.
 

○Applicable Areas

10 special tourist zones in Seoul City (Myeong-dong, Namdaemun , Bukchang-dong, Da-dong and Mugyo-dong, Jongno and Cheonggye, Dongdaemun, Itaewon, Songpa and Jamsil, Gangnam MICE, Hongik University) , Sinchon


 

○Applicable Cases

Compensation for overcharges in shopping, food, and accommodation test0904
※ Not applicable to unreasonably priced charges related to street stalls, transportation, and travel agency contracts, and Online platforms.

※ Unfair charges should be limited to actual cases that demonstrate a clear outcome, and they must be supported by objective evidence. Depending on the circumstances, compensation may not be provided

○Compensation Limit

Up to KRW 500,000 per person
Processing Time: payment will be made within 30 days of receiving the complaint
※ Only complaints filed within 14 days of the incident will be eligible for review and compensation.
