Hidden Night Spots for Seoul Travelers
Winter is an etching, spring a watercolor, summer an oil painting and autumn a mosaic of them all.

The sweltering summer heat gives way to clear, blue autumn skies. This autumn, come walk through Seoul’s night together with Visit Seoul during the season of many colors.
#1. Riverview 8th Avenue (Gwangjingyo Bridge)
Hangang River is the first place that comes to mind when talking about great night views in Seoul. Although it’s a pretty well known spot to many, Hangang River is also a place that offers a very different look and vibe during the night. One of the three observatories in the world located underneath a bridge, Riverview 8th Avenue can be easily accessed by foot and is a popular rest stop for cyclists. At the middle of Gwangjingyo Bridge, take the stairway leading down to the observatory to come upon a cultural space featuring exhibition halls and performance venues. Well known for being the shooting location for Korean drama “Iris,” this attraction is also a popular venue for exhibitions, performances, and many other free cultural programs. Inside the exhibition hall, there’s a floor made entirely of glass offering thrill-seeking visitors a clear view of the river as they walk on top of it. If just viewing a show or just viewing the night view is not enough, Riverview 8th Avenue is the perfect place to enjoy both in one go!

Have you ever heard of a convenience store with its own barista and classic music playing in the background? A cultural lounge operated by Emart24 and featuring a “Cloud Café” and “Sunset Café” located on the upper and lower part of Donjakdaegyo Bridge, this attraction is a mash up of convenience store, café, and observatory offering the best views of the river. The glass walls offer visitors an unobstructed view of Hangang River. The attraction also offers many features like an elevator connected to the upper level of the café, a bike rack for visiting cyclists, and a parking lot for drivers for the convenience of its visitors. Surrounded by glass walls on all sides, visitors can enjoy the wonderful sunset views of Hangang River. For an even better experience, visitors can purchase snacks from any of the two cafes, head up to the outdoor roof terrace, and enjoy an open view of Hangang River while munching on their delicious snacks.

#3. Naksan Park
Called the “Lalaland” of Seoul, Naksan Park is a great spot where visitors can enjoy breathtaking night views while strolling on the paths along Seoul City Wall. Located in a preserved site where the past and present coexist harmoniously, Naksan Park is a beloved attraction famed for its breathtaking night views. A place where visitors can take great selfies and pictures under the moonlight, Naksan Park can be found trending in various social media sites under related hashtags especially during the spring and fall seasons. This coming autumn, come enjoy a leisurely walk through Naksan Park and Seoul City Wall with your friends, family, or lover to fully enjoy the beautiful, romantic atmosphere of this particular attraction.

#4. Kyung Hee University [Midae Road behind Peace Hall]
Kyung Hee University is a school famous for its beautiful campus and night views. A perfect place to enjoy a night date with lovers, the school attracts many late night walkers and students. After walking through the scenic campus, visitors can then head to Pajeon Alley, a nearby 40 year old food alley, for some tasty late night snacks. Walking along the school campus while enjoying the night sky is another perfect way to enjoy your trip to Seoul this autumn.

This place is the perfect spot to visit during the autumn for some stargazing in the city skies.
#5. Noksapyeong Overpass
Many are unfamiliar with Noksapyeong Overpass. However, it’s a pretty well known spot among avid travelers for viewing Namsan Mountain and N Seoul Tower at a glance. Conveniently located near the hip and hot Gyeongnidan-gil in Itaewon, the overpass is a great place to visit during a one day trip to the area. This viewpoint is best visited during sunset when it offers a picturesque scenery of a quiet and peaceful-looking Namsan Mountain standing between the the busy streets of traffic. Taking a picture is definitely a must when visiting this place.

TIP.
On March 2019, Noksapyeong Station was transformed into a public art space by Seoul Metropolitan Government. Various artworks are on display throughout the year, making this a perfect place to stop by and visit on the way home after enjoying the night views.
