The Damyang Bamboo Festival is the only bamboo-themed festival held across the world. The festival will be featured in the vicinity of Juknokwon and Gwanbangjerim, and its event venue will be divided into Un, Su, Dae, and Tong. In the “Jukmul Market ofRemembrance,” the festival’s premier program, there will be exhibitions and sales of bamboo products, sales of native food items related to bamboo, and traditional art and cultural performances, such as madanggeuk. The “Parade to Jukmul Market,” a programresidents and tourists can enjoy together pleasantly, shows the bamboo culture embodied in the lives of Damyang County residents.

There is an abundance of bamboo-related hands-on programs, including riding unique bamboo canoes and rafts, bamboo rides, bamboo basket fish catching, bamboo water-gun making, bamboo ball throwing, and bamboo-themed outdoor activities.

At night, there will be the “Bamboo Propose” event utilizing a media facade, as well as the “Damyang Starlight Journey,” where visitors, joined by a number of celebrities, peer up to the star-filled sky between the Juknokwon and Platanus forest trails.
