PyeongChang 2018 : Get Into the Olympic Spirit!
The 2018 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games are upon us! The PyeongChang Games are the first ever Winter Olympics to take place in South Korea. The entire country is ready for the Olympics and to welcome visitors with open arms. Tour Seoul and Korea while getting into the Olympic spirit in 2018!
To Gangwon Province!
The city of PyeongChang is located in Korea's Gangwon Province. In addition to PyeongChang, other cities in Gangwon will be hosting several of this year's sporting events. At first glance, Gangwon Province may seem like it's located far from Seoul but they're only a train or bus ride away from each other. Whether by bus or by train, travel times average about 3 hours from the city to the province.
Visitors who opt for the bus can depart from Dong Seoul Terminal or Seoul Nambu Bus Terminal. Visitors who prefer the train can take advantage of the new Gyeonggang Line that opened in December 2017. Trains on the Gyeonggang Line take visitors from Seoul straight to PyeongChang Station. With Incheon International Airport's new Terminal 2 open for business in time to accommodate travelers for the Olympics, Korea is ready to handle the crowds of visitors flocking to the country!
Incheon International Airport Corporation
KTX's newly inaugurated Gyeonggang Line connects Seoul directly to PyeongChang. The trip lasts just 2 hours and 30 minutes and during the Winter Games, trains will depart from Seoul roughly 10 times a day. KTX also unveiled a special foreigner-exclusive rail pass called the PyeongChang Korail Pass that offers users up to 40% savings compared to purchasing regular tickets. The pass can be used during the Olympic period and it allows visitors to more conveniently tour both Seoul and Gangwon Province.
