Alex the Coffee is well known for its high quality coffee and the attention paid to every aspect of the cafe's design. 




The 2nd floor was once an office space, but it's been transformed into a bright seating area. With its ample sunlight and abundance of plants, the 2nd floor feels like a little garden and it's great for sitting with a drink and a sweet treat.




Incredible coffee is a given, as the cafe's owner flies all over to world to purchase coffee beans. Alex the Coffee's beans are sourced from several major producers such as Guatemala, Boliva, and Panama. The most popular menu item is the white blanc, which is a warm coffee served with cold whipped cream.

  

 A Trendy Cafe: Under Pressure

Under Pressure is trendy cafe that pays special attention to interior design. The cafe's chairs are by Fritz Hansen and even the drawers are USM drawers.




The tiramisu coffee may be the most popular menu item. Much like an affrograto (minus the ice cream), diners receive the tiramisu cake in a mug with a shot of espresso to pour over the tiramisu. The cheesecake tarte and gingerbread are also great with coffee. Under Pressure also offers a light brunch menu.

  

 A Gastropub: Juban

 

Located in the little neighborhood of Sajik-dong, Juban is a hanok gastropub. Hanok are traditional Korean homes, and the architecture of the restaurant adds to the cozy ambience. Juban offers a large range of traditional liquors alongside a creative menu that combines ingredients and dishes in fresh and unique ways. The result is an incredible fusion cuisine that you won't find anywhere else. Juban is Chef Kim Tae Yoon's second restaurant. His first restaurant, named 7pm, serves primarily Mediterranean cuisine. Chef Kim has traveled all over Asia and Europe to taste the culinary offerings of different countries, and he brings his experiences with him to the kitchen. Diners can taste the history of his travels through his food, and the menu here combines Korean and foreign flavors. The East Sea-Napoli is one menu item that is a great example of this fusion The East Sea-Napoli salad incorporates Korean and foreign flavors and its ingredients include octopus, potatoes, and celery.

As a gastropub, Juban also pays great attention to pairings and the alcohol menu is extensive. There is everything from champagne, wine, and beer, to traditional Korean liquors. During the week, operating hours are 18:00 to 01:00.
