Sometimes, it can be such a pain that the subway closes around midnight here in Korea. Especially when you don't like to take taxis for the hassle or for the price, we wanted you to know that there are public transportation alternatives to the subway. There are several buses that run late at night and are available to take you to your destination. We chose one that might be particularly helpful to you. The N62 bus. Running from 11:40pm to 3:00am, it runs across the city taking you to some central locations.

A bubbling conglomerate of bars and restaurants that are open until the sun comes up, both the Sinchon and Edae area have lots to do at all times. And of course, you don't have to worry about what time the last subway runs.

Jongno 3(sam)ga's Gul Bossam Alley is another great hideout that you can get to during the hours of the night bus. Here, you can have your belly full of the delicious steamed pork meat with fresh kimchi. In the nearby area, there are many places to grab a post-meal drink or you can even take a walk along the Cheonggye stream which is not too far away.

Gwangjang Market is the hot spot for street food and late night snacks that's being featured in all the television programs. Instead of going to the regular night-spots, you can see this market come to life in the shadowy surroundings. Here, the older generation of Koreans mingle and as the bustle of the day-crowd has gone, you can get to see more of the market for its character.

If food and drinks are not necessarily your thing, you need to stop by the shopping that doesn't stop. At the famous Dongdaemun markets, you can get your fill of the latest fashions or pick up some souvenirs and last minute gifts. Of course, there are also snacks and street food if you get hungry. .

Another food option with restaurants that are open until 3 am, is Wangsimni's Gopchang-gui Alley. Not for the weak of stomach or unadventurous, gochang-gui is Korean barbecque with different part of pig intestines. Often served with alcohol and vegetables, it's a less discovered part of the Korean cuisine that is also a must-try experience.

One way to finish a late night or even to start an early morning might be to catch the sunrise at a great point near the Ttukseom Hangang Park. Though they have many faciilities for use during the day, this park also has some great views which might be even more valuable to you when you can see them without so many people hanging around!
