  • THE CHAE: Dalro is an individual hanok (traditional Korean house) accommodation with a charming yard and attic. Just like the moon that never fails to light up the road even after the onset of darkness, THE CHAE: Dalro (which means “to the moon” in Korean) helps us find our true selves through meditation. It is located along a busy street of Gye-dong in Seoul’s Bukchon, but once one enters through the main gate, a small, quiet world reserved for guests opens up. Unlike other spaces, the house was created as a space for one to meditate and look back on one’s life, so guests may enjoy pondering with diverse methods and five thinking tools.

  • The house is a split-level accommodation that consists of one room and one bathroom. |Yard| Look out at the shining moon in the sky from the small yard. It is a space where the warm moonlight fully shines on the yard. On clear days, open the window and breathe in the fresh air. Fresh air blows in and fully refreshes the house. |Tea room| It is a space for a cup of warm tea and friendly chatter. Different types of flower teas are provided for each season. Enjoy time meditating while taking in the scent and flavor of a nice cup of tea. |Dining room| As precious as it is to quietly meditate alone, sharing time with others is just as valuable. Enjoy cooking and savoring food under the setting sun next to a warm heater. Your body and mind will recover their vitality. |Bathroom| Bathe in hot water and let go of petty thoughts. Melt the provided bath salt in the bathtub and spend time purifying your mind and body. Let go of all tension and discover your most comfortable and natural self. |Bedroom| Dalro’s bedroom is provided in the attic. It is a cozy space where you can look up at the rafters. Enjoy a comfortable slumber on the Korean-style mattress filled with cotton and a blanket made from cotton cloth.
