About
  • THE CHAE: Gallery is a hanok (traditional Korean house) made of eco-friendly materials like stones, earth, and wood that are particularly used for hanok. Nails are not used; only wood is used to make the furniture, and left-over wood is chiseled to make hangers. As such, the old and used are effectively reused. Studio Aeir, based in Seoul with a background in woodworking, designed all the furniture. The beautiful white porcelain is a moon jar by artist Ra Ki-hwan. THE CHAE: Gallery was inspired by the motif of a gallery. Artworks of artists from Seochon Village were carefully selected and exhibited in each room.We hope the artistic sensibility of Seochon Village will inspire you.We hope that everyone staying at THE CHAE: Gallery will be immersed in the tranquility of nature and the charm a hanok offers and let go of complicated feelings from a busy daily life, even briefly.
