About
  • Viva La Vida is a small hanok guesthouse located in front of Changdeokgung Palace that opened in June 2020.
The guesthouse is an unmanned private space for just one group of guests.

The slightly old guesthouse exterior may appear out of date and shabby, but you will experience a small and cozy world once you enter.
Guests can enjoy a quiet tea time in the small yard and garden of the U-shaped house in addition to watching the stars in the night sky and listening to the falling raindrops with the wine provided as a welcome drink at night.

Within 10 minutes of the guesthouse are Insa-dong, Ikseon-dong, Jongmyo Shrine, Bukchon, Samcheong-dong, Gyeongbokgung Palace, National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Gwanghwamun, and more, making the guesthouse the best location for enjoying Seoul’s attractions without having to drive.

While working as the exhibition manager of Hagajae Museum, the host cooperated with many Korean artists and artworks to open special exhibitions. Simple works by prominent artists like Kim Jin-wan, a master of Korean ceramics, and Ahn Jae-bok, an artist who creates art pieces using hanji (traditional Korean paper) and iron, are displayed inside the guesthouse, and the host aims to contribute to spreading Korea’s beauty and introducing new works through continuous exchanges with such artists.

We hope that guests take a break from the noises of the Metropolis and experience a journey to a somewhat different world.
