  • ZIKM, located next to the Seoul City Wall of Dongdaemun Gate and behind the Seoul City Wall Museum, is an impressive space that combines the beauty of the 100-year-old traditional hanok with modern design.

    The space is elegant and not in the least unpleasant. The guesthouse was prepared as a space of purifying the heart, a place of rest, a source of inspiration, and a place of healing that allows guests to break free from obsessions and a polluted mind in a safe space.

    Both excessive and scarce amounts of objects can be inconvenient. We prepared just the necessities. The rediscovery of the value of space through the simple act of emptying is the true meaning of ‘home’ that we hope to convey through the hanok. This rediscovery is one reason ZIKM is a delight to stumble upon as the guesthouse was reborn to meet the demands of these times.

    We aimed to create a space where guests can rediscover themselves and find their light in a quiet place. Come enjoy your stay at ZIKM!

  • - Unshared, 110-square-meter guestroom and yard; guestroom separated into Anchae and Sarangchae
    - Designer furniture from Artek and Herman Miller; kitchen utensils from Gwangjuyo and Alessi The majority of lighting from Artemide are the original works of the designer that reflect the owner’s tastes and create a sensible atmosphere
    - Sarangchae with traces of the house with old tiles that covered the Anchae roof create a panorama window with a view of the Naksan City Wall. The Seoul City Trail can be seen beyond the Sarangchae window from the Anchae guestroom with all the doors open
    - On rainy days, raindrops fall on top of the soil cement to create a picturesque scene
    - The old guesthouse that sits amid nature is the best place where stars in the night sky can be counted while lying on the bed and the symphony of raindrops falling from the eaves can be heard in surround sound.

- Arrive at the last of the four hanok houses
