Jung Saem Mool Plops

This is the flagship store of “Jung Saem Mool,” a beauty brand by makeup artist Jung Saem Mool who pioneers K-beauty trends and is in charge of makeup for Korea’s top stars like Jun Ji-hyun, Lee Hyo-ri, BoA, and Kim Yuna. On the first floor is the store where customers can test beauty products and make purchases, and there is even a makeup booth available for customers to receive makeovers by professionals. Artist Jung Saem Mool is Korea’s representative makeup artist but she is also extremely popular overseas. Thailand’s so-called, “national goddess,” Davika Hoorne is the brand model, and her photos are lined up along the walls throughout the store.

The first and second basement floors are used as an exhibition space. With the currently ongoing season 2 of the “PLOPS in Art Project,” visitors can encounter works by four up-and-coming artists who are being recognized locally and abroad for their unique works. (The exhibition will close on December 26.) The exhibition space undergoes redecoration with each exhibition, but the small garden on the second floor has not changed since it was first created. Villa de Mûrir, the flagship store of the beauty brand “Mûrir,” is famous as a Garosu-gil photo zone with its lovely pink interior. The store not only offers Mûrir products but also beauty products of Korean brands in the Beauty Select Shop, the Open Studio where beauty YouTubers can film videos, a café where customers can drink and test makeup products, and other various services. Visitors can make reservations via the website or by phone to receive makeup services by a professional makeup artist in the style of their choice. The empty space in the store is used by   LugStay  , which offers safekeeping of luggage for those traveling. Tourists can leave their heavy bags here while touring or shopping around Garosu-gil. The luggage storage service can be reserved through the LugStay app with a prepayment.

“Tamburins” is the cosmetic brand of Gentle Monster, a brand famous for “celebrity sunglasses” sported by celebrities like BTS, EXO, and Jun Ji-hyun. The Tamburins Flagship Store has installation works placed throughout its spacious store that gives the appearance of an exhibition hall rather than a cosmetics store. Every corner is a photo zone with various objects installed throughout the store that were created in collaboration with artists. On the second floor, visitors can rest on the trendy sofas and chairs while trying out Tamburins’ signature hand creams. The space also offers a DIY giftwrapping section, and customers can order exclusive Tamburines “bed packaging.”

Village 11 Factory is a select shop with the concept of “the eccentric professor who is crazy about cosmetics and his strange lab.” The first thing that catches visitors’ eyes upon walking into the store is the pink conveyor belt. Microscopes, test tubes, and beakers throughout the shop make the store feel like an actual lab. The second floor is home to the Dining Room adorned with cosmetics, the impressive Foot Spa with sensibly-designed tiles, and the Barber Shop for men. The shutter of your camera won’t stop here thanks to the unique atmosphere and fun props. The outdoor stairs lead to a café where visitors can rest.
