The 2024 Seokchon Lake Luminarie Festival will be themed “Dream, Universe & Love.” As one of Songpa's signature seasonal festivals representing autumn and winter, the Luminarie Festival transforms the natural beauty of Seokchon Lake with various illuminated displays, light sculptures, and photo zones, creating a dazzling spectacle of light. The term “Luminarie” refers to a festival where buildings or spaces are decorated with lights, often referred to as "light art" or "light sculptures." From the main gate at the entrance to the east side of Seokchon Lake, visitors will encounter large and small Luminarie gates, a Luminarie tunnel, a bridge gate, and a series of dreamy and mystical illuminated displays and photo zones. One unique feature is the “Lake I Create” installation, where messages based on the theme “Dream, Universe & Love”—selected through a prior public contest—are brought to life in LED lights, brightening the lake through community participation. The festival starts with an opening ceremony and fireworks on Friday, October 25, followed by cultural performances, experience booths, and a flea market. On Saturday, October 26, the Lotte World Marching Band will perform a special performance alongside Songpa's mascot, HaHa HoHo. From October 26 to November 24, various cultural performances, including busking, mime shows, magic performances, and breaking dance shows, will take place every weekend, along with the flea market, offering a wide range of entertainment for visitors.
