The Nighttime Fancies that Disappear in the Morning special exhibition is the fourth exhibition taking place at the Hotel Imaginary located on the hill in Seongbuk-dong, Seoul, from November 20, 2020, to February 28, 2021. All visitors are required to make a reservation in advance.

Serving as both the exhibition planner, and the guide, visitors are told the story of light & dark surrounding the life of the main protagonist, Xiao Si’r, from the story, A Brighter Summer Day. You can also see the video artwork of artist, Hwang Min-gyu, as well one of his earlier works, I Protect You [2015], and a more recent work, Into the Wild [2020]. 

Centered around the concept of the word "fancy," referring to the process of drawing the image of an object or event inside one's mind that has little to no possibility of actually coming to pass in reality, this exhibition aims to break away from the dichotomy of "darkness" that blinds us and "light" that opens our eyes. The result is the storytelling of a color produced within the boundaries of where light and dark coexist.

※ In order to abide by social distancing measures in protection from the spread of COVID-19, all visitors are required to observe the exhibition by individual only with a maximum of four visitors allowed in the exhibition at any given time.
