Gyeomjae Jeongseon Art Museum
Gyeomjae Jeongseon Art Museum opened in 2009 as Gyeomjae Jeongseon who lived up to 84 served as a mayor of Yangcheon in his late 60s when he accomplished the heyday of True-View Landscape Painting. Gyeomjae Jeongseon Art Museum is a three-story building. The first floor is a special exhibition hall and the second floor exhibits life story of Gyeomjae Jeongseon, photographic edition, and five paintings among 14 paintings owned by the art museum (nine paintings owned by head of art museum, five paintings in trust). The third floor exhibits the models of surrounding of Yangcheon government office about 300 years ago and helps audiences to imagine about the past realistically.
Gungsan Trail
Gungsan is placed 76m above sea level and it formed a boundary between Hangang River and Yangcheon government office when the region was called Yangcheon. While Gungsan Trail is popular as a forest trail for residents, Gungsan fired cannons and defeated Japanese army during the Siege of Haengju in Japanese Invasion. With its topographical feature rising right beside Hangang River as the main supplies route, fortress was built during Unified Silla period and operated until Joseon Dynasty. In the west side, Seonghwangsa Shrine and Soangnu Pavilion are located.
Soangnu Pavilion
Soangnu Pavilion is a pavilion built 2~3 years before Gyeomjae Jeongseon got appointed as a Yangcheon mayor. According to the record during Joseon Dynasty, Ansan, Inwangsan Mountain, and Gwanaksan Mountain can be looked down from Soangnu Pavilion and Seonyubong Peak and Hangang River are connected infinitely when seen from Soangnu Pavilion. Currently, an explanatory plate is located inside the Soangnu Pavilion and it explains about the two paintings (Anhyeon Seokbong, Soang Huwol) from the Book of Scenic Beauty in the Suburbs of Hanyang, owned by the head of Kansong Art Museum. This book was made as Gyeomjae Jeongseon’s friend Byeongyeon Lee sent him poems and Gyeomjae Jeongseon sent back paintings when he served as a Yangcheon mayor. These paintings help understand how Seoul is different from the past.
