Yunseul, meaning "glossy ripples" reflecting the sunlight or moonlight, is a public art piece found installed in a circular space that's 25 m wide and 4 m below ground level near the western plaza of Seoullo in Malli-dong.
Shaped like a giant 25 m optical lens, this art piece also has a space 4 m below ground level where viewers can go inside it to interact with and experience this piece in a new way. The ceiling is made up of stainless steel mirrored louver (window blind or shutter with horizontal slats that are angled to admit light and air) to let in light, allowing a creation of a rippling effect just like its namesake.
