    Healing Hanok Chaihyodang is a cultural hanok structure built with Korean pine trees by the nation’s top hanok architect and CEO of Bukchon HRC, Kim Jang-kwon.
    The hanok has won the “triple crown,” having received the Main Prize at the 2018 Korea Wood Design Awards, the Seoul Well Hanok, and the Publication Award from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism ([Home is Yearning]).
    The hanok encompasses a modern but simple beauty with a rich pine scent.

    1. [One reservation a day] without any other guests
    Guests of Chaihyodang can exclusively use the [Ondol Room (choose between Anbang (inner room) and Numarubang (reception room) + bathroom with a bathtub + 12-pyeong (40m2), underground multi-purpose room (with a refrigerator) + court with a wooden bench] according to their reservation type without any other guests around.
    There are two types of reservations at Chaihyodang. There is the Royal Suite Room (2 rooms) and the Royal Deluxe Room (Anbang + Numarubang).
    With the one-reservation-a-day system, guests can use the facility without any other guests present. Only one reservation for either the Royal Suite Room or the Royal Deluxe Room is taken per day.

    We guarantee the cleanest, most relaxing, and coziest sleep you will ever have.

    3. Chaihyodang’s exclusive, spacious underground multi-purpose room
    The incomparable multi-purpose room is a spacious, 12-pyeong area that cannot be found in any other guesthouse.
    The venue is perfect for refreshments or a wine party. This optimal space for light drinking and gathering can be used free of charge.
    We ask that all guests use the underground multi-purpose room for drinking.
    The room is also equipped with a piano, gayageum (Korean harp), kkwaenggwari (gong), janggu (drums), and drums for guests to show off their musical talents.

    4. One breakfast table per guest
    Each guest will receive one traditional breakfast table of rice cake soup and seaweed porridge made from vegetable broth cooked by the lady of the house (Lee Mi-mi) who completed the temple food cooking course at Jingwansa Temple.

    5. The guesthouse also provides a traditional mattress experience in Numaru, the wooden ondol room

    6. The wooden bench in the court adds romance to the night.
    Guests can lay on the wooden bench in the court to enjoy the stars in the night sky.
    They can experience a similar feeling to that when one visits their hometown.

    7. Teatime with author Choi Hyo-chan and his wife
    Sign up for teatime with author Choi Hyo-chan (Doctor of Literature; Comparative Literature) to enjoy a time for conversation about childhood education, the humanities, and the second chapter of one’s life.
    The lady of the house (Lee Mi-mi-Chaeyoung(renamed)) who was the head of a private educational institute, has formed her own views on educational counseling with her degree in Sociology from Yonsei University, thirty years of experience in tutoring and heading a private educational institute, and as the co-author of “Qualifications of a Parent.”

    8. Small library in the main hall and a book gift
    In the main hall is the small library of author Choi Hyo-chan who wrote thirty books including, “Children’s Education of Nobles Around the World” and “Selection of 100 Humanities Classics Recommended by Seoul National University 1, 2, 3.” Guests will also receive a signed book as a gift.

    9. Smoking is prohibited in all areas of the building. Free Wi-Fi is provided, as well as a refrigerator in the multi-purpose room. The facility is equipped with the security device, SECOM.

    10. Spend a night at Chaihyodang, soaked in the smell of pine trees, with the mountain breeze from Bukhansan Mountain for a relaxing time!

    There are two types of lodging – both types are available on the weekdays (Sunday-Thursday) and only the Royal Suite Room is available on Fridays and Saturdays. We do not take any more reservations on the weekdays when one of the two types of lodging is reserved.

    <Royal Suite Room>

    Guests who reserve the Royal Suite Room can use the [2 ondol rooms (Anbang (inner room) + Numarubang (reception room)) + bathroom with a bathtub + free use of the 12-pyeong (40m2) underground multi-purpose room (with a refrigerator) after 6:00 p.m. + court with a wooden bench] without any other guests present. Once the Royal Suite Room is reserved, we do not take reservations for the Royal Deluxe Room.

    <Royal Deluxe Room>
    1. [One reservation a day] without any other guests: Available for reservations on the weekdays (Sunday-Thursday).
    Guests who reserve the Royal Deluxe Room can use the [Ondol room (Anbang (inner room)) + wooden Numarubang (reception room) + bathroom with a bathtub + free use of the 12- pyeong (40m2) underground multi-purpose room (with a refrigerator) after 6:00 p.m. + court with a wooden bench] without any other guests present. Once the Royal Deluxe Room is reserved, we do not take reservations for the Royal Suite Room.
