THE CHAE: Uhui
THE CHAE: Uhui is an independent hanok (traditional Korean house) stay located in Seochon Village, Jongno-gu, Seoul. Uhui means to “shine while playing” and proposes guests to discover themselves while appreciating the arts. Each space is filled with diverse games to delve into, self-reflect, and reason. Once guests enter through the main gate in between the old alleys of Seochon Village that meander like a maze, a yard leading to a building welcomes them. The yard is surrounded by an anchae (main building), a room to appreciate the arts, and a bathing room. Guests can enjoy the beautiful scenery through the large open window of the anchae bedroom. The room for appreciating the arts is a space to enjoy meditating, listening to music, and watching videos. Guests can also enjoy drinking tea while sitting on the porch and looking out the window or watching a film to their liking in the evening through the provided beam projector. In one corner of the yard is a small bathing space. Enjoy purifying your body and mind by breathing in the fresh outdoor air while soaking your body in warm water.
