It is the first private school in the Republic of Korea, established in 1908 during the Japanese colonial period to save and establish the country through education. The school actively participated in national movements such as the March 1st Movement during the Japanese colonial period, the June 1st Movement, and the Gwangju Student Movement. Monuments commemorating the March 1st Movement and the June 10th Movement are erected, allowing visitors to reflect on history. Additionally, the school is famous for its exotic architectural style and is a popular tourist destination, as it was a filming location for the drama “Winter Sonata.”
