Global pandemics and climate change have brought about significant changes in our daily lives. We have grown accustomed to encountering artificial nature within residential and commercial spaces, and through devices equipped with video systems like TVs and smartphones, we experience virtual nature on screens. As a result, our desire for a real nature has been fulfilled. Virtual Reality (VR) has also enabled us to immerse ourselves in vivid nature experiences within virtual spaces previously only accessible in reality.
In 2023, Seoul Light DDP began with the question, "Can real nature, which has existed since the beginning, coexist with the technological nature created by humans?"
Our current focus is exploring the "sensation of coexistence," where humans and nature coexist in harmony instead of attempting to control or dominate nature. By harnessing the power of 'light (projection),' which is one of the earliest phenomena in the world, achieved through scientific technology, we have curated an encounter with nature using advanced technology. We aim to transcend the sense of coexistence and evoke the profound feeling of biophilia – a deep affection and love for nature.
