The original opera "Naengmyeon" is a large-scale North Korean human rights cultural and arts project featuring the collaboration of over 90 participants, including leading domestic artists, production staff, and North Korean defectors. Through the story of Naengmyeon, a Korean dish that originated in North Korea and has since spread across the Korean Peninsula and the world, the opera sheds light on the hardships faced by North Korean residents and defectors, as well as the reality of human rights violations. It is a production dedicated to defectors, displaced people, families separated by the Korean War, and all who have experienced the pain of a divided nation, as well as those preparing for reunification and anyone who loves music.
