The curated exhibition 《80 Urban Reality》 in the GanaArt Collection at the Seoul Museum of Art explores the realities surrounding cities in the 1980s from various perspectives through the collection and artworks. The 1980s in Korean society marked a significant era of rapid industrialization and economic growth, ushering in a new phase of urbanization. During that time, artists had their own attitudes towards cities and created various artworks reflecting their perspectives. This exhibition is organized into three sub-themes: ‘The Other Side of Urbanization,' 'Urbanites,' and 'Beyond Urban Surroundings: Origin of Life,' based on a common thematic consciousness that runs through the exhibited works. Through the artists' perspectives from that era, we hope this exhibition provides an opportunity to empathize with the realities of that time and contemplate their significance in our present lives.

The operating hours for the exhibition are as follows:
- Tuesday to Friday: 10:00-20:00 KST
- Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays:
- Summer Season (March to October): 10:00-19:00 KST
- Winter Season (November to February): 10:00-18:00 KST
- Culture Day (last Wednesday of every month): 10:00-22:00 KST

Last entry is allowed up to 1 hour before closing.
Holidays
The exhibition is closed every Monday and on January 1st. However, if a Monday falls on a public holiday, the exhibition will remain open as usual, except on January 1st.

ㅇ Every day at 15:00 KST, the exhibition tour and commentary on the GanaArt Collection and Cheon Kyeong-ja Collection will begin at the entrance of the second-floor exhibition hall. (Service unavailable on museum closure days and Mondays/schedules may be subject to change, so check the museum's official website.

  • 경복궁, 창덕궁, 창경궁, 덕수궁 35인 이상 관람 시, 해당 궁궐 사이트에서 15일 전 단체 입장신청이 필요합니다. (2014.1.1.부터 시행)

Read before Reservation
  • Reservations must be made at least three days prior to the tour date.
  • Additional reservations, one or two days before the tour starts, are only allowed for the tour that is already fixed.
  • In the case of group tour, more than 10people, please contact us by e-mail.
  • Reservations for the following month are available from the 15th of the current month.
  • Please refrain from participating in any tour programs should you be experiencing any symptoms, including fever, coughing, congestion, muscle pain, stuffy nose, and/or sore throat.
  • Reservations for tourists 14 years & under without an accompanying adult or guardian shall be canceled on site.
  • All reservations will be canceled in the event of a weather warning being issued. (e.g. heatwave, typhoon, heavy rain, fine dust, etc.) (Cancellation will be processed immediately upon implementation)

  • Reservation shall be made at least 1 week before the tour day.
  • The course is for tourists with mobility problems (Senior, people with disability, stroller user).
  • You may not use the course without an assistant (or companion)

  • Seoul Guided Walking Tour Office and Seoul culture and tourism guide are not liable for the safety accidents during the Seoul Guided Walking Tour.
