Won Kun Jun is an artist based in Germany; Soo Jung Park is an artist based in California, USA; and Andy Harwood is an Australian artist based in Brisbane. The three artists focus on the essential properties of painting: dots, lines, shapes, and colors, which are basic elements. Their paintings are composed of geometric or floating color fields, which are restrained expressions and simple in form, but the repetitive patterns of color fields evoke emotion. Although they approach painting with minimal expression, the colors they create mean more than just colors. To the three artists, color is a tool and window that conveys the artist's feelings, visualizes light, and communicates with the audience. By combining color with other colors or spaces formed by notching with a knife, they expand color into a spectrum of light and explore the synesthetic experience of how color and light react with the viewer's consciousness. Won Kun Jun, Soo Jung Park, and Andy Harwood expand the visual realm of color into the realm of synesthesia. Through the three-person exhibition, The Abstract Field of Color; Color Beyond the Radiance, feel the contemplative experience created by color and light.
