Hello!

It’s difficult to give you precise information on shop and restaurant closings as closings will vary by business. Major chain restaurants, many tourist attractions, and some malls will be open throughout the holiday. Some stores and restaurants will close only on Oct. 4th (the actual day of Chuseok). Other stores will be closed throughout the first week of October. Most major tourist attractions will be open at some point during the 3rd through 5th. For more detailed information we suggest calling the 1330 Korea Travel Hotline (+82-2-1330). They offer service in several languages and can assist with more detailed inquiries.

The following locations will be open during the Chuseok holidays:
Gyeongbokgung Palace (closed Tuesdays)
Namsangol Hanok Village (closed Mondays)
Lotte World Tower & Mall
Shopping centers

Open but may have many store/restaurant closures:
Namdaemun Market,
Gwangjang Market
Bukchon Hanok Village
Myeong-dong
Insa-dong

Best regards,
