We are visiting Seoul in the first week of October and understand that some shops are closed during Chuseok Holiday. Please advise whether the following are open from 3 October to 5 October. Are shops normally open on the 6 October holiday?

It’s difficult to give you precise information on shop and restaurant closings as closings will vary by business. Major chain restaurants, many tourist attractions, and some malls will be open throughout the holiday. Some stores and restaurants will close only on Oct. 4th (the actual day of Chuseok). Other stores will be closed throughout the first week of October. Most major tourist attractions will be open at some point during the 3rd through 5th.
